Pastel Beach is a photography exhibition by Paloma Cabeza, showing in Bologna in the fall of 2025. I've written the short stories on this page based on five of her photographs.  

Beaches, swimming pools, ports, shorelines. Locations far from cities and workplaces, where it is possible to escape from dull days and uncomfortable situations and rediscover themselves. Paloma's photographs portray a glossy, almost unreal world. Sharp lines, subtle contrasts, minimal shadows, and bold pastel colors depict people's lives in ephemeral landscapes.

My short tales tell their stories: hidden desires, glimpses of reality that reveal how these places change their lives despite a presence of just a few hours, between a cocktail and a beach tennis game.
