imaginary films
Scenes from imaginary films is a project that was built with the exhibition of the same name by photographer Paloma Cabeza , displayed in Brussels in autumn 2024.
Starting from five of her photos, I wrote plot and scenes of the imaginary films, also taking inspiration from real films to blend the reality captured by her camera with the fiction of cinema.
Each movie is explained through its plot, developed within a cinema genre, with references to the real films that suggested its story.
A short tale describes the key scene of these films, where the plot changes and evolves in a different direction.
The stories were displayed alongside the pictures during the exhibition, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the tales outlined by the photos. The scenes, the plot of the imaginary film, and references to the real films were collected in a brochure distributed during the event.
